Most baby and toddler sleep advice assumes you can remember a complicated plan at 3am on no sleep, with a dysregulated nervous system and somehow manage to follow it. It doesn’t account for a brain like yours. Because your neurodivergence wasn't baked in from the start.

I know because I have been there. I didn’t even know I had ADHD until I was already well into motherhood. Already struggling, already becoming someone I did not recognise. Before kids I hadn't realised how much of a system I had built around my life to keep myself functioning and regulated. It was important to me to have a sleep routine for my girls, one my brain could actually follow. Knowing when nap time was. Knowing when my day would end. Having those pockets of quiet where I could just stop and reset made parenting so much easier.

About Me

Hi, I’m Jen.

An infant sleep consultant and certifying as an ADHD coach. I did not know I had ADHD until I was already struggling with the unpredictability that motherhood brought with it. When I had my first child I was becoming someone I did not recognise. Angry, resentful, bouncing between this is the best thing I have ever done… and what have I done?! I wanted to be a calm, happy mum, instead I felt like a snappy version of who I was supposed to be.

Getting my daughters into a consistent sleep routine changed that. Not because everything became easy, but because I finally had moments in the day where I knew nobody needed me. I could go to the gym and know they would still be sleeping when I got back. I could hold it together until nap time. I knew when my day would end and I would get some time to just be myself.

When I realised sleep was the thing making that possible, I also realised nobody was talking about it in that way. Everyone talks about getting your baby to sleep. Nobody talks about what it does for you when they do. Especially when you have an ADHD brain that genuinely cannot cope without those moments to reset.
